But as wedding trends continue to evolve, many brides are starting to ask the same question:

Are wedding flat lays going out of style?

It’s a fair question.

After all, weddings today look very different than they did even a few years ago. Couples are moving away from traditions simply because “that’s how weddings have always been done” and are instead being intentional about every detail of their wedding day.

And honestly? I think flat lays are following that same trend.

This one might seem obvious, but don’t forget both wedding bands in addition to your engagement ring.

Ring photos are often some of the most creative detail photos in a wedding gallery, and they deserve their own moment.

Jewelry & Accessories

Your earrings, bracelet, necklace, watch, hairpiece, or veil aren’t just accessories. They’re part of the story.

Years from now, these details will remind you exactly how you looked and felt on your wedding day.

These are some of the most personal items you’ll have on your wedding day and often become treasured keepsakes after the wedding is over.

Whether you’re wearing Louboutins, Luccheses, or a custom pair of shoes, your footwear deserves a place in your detail box.

Family Heirlooms

These are often my favorite details to photograph because they tell a story that’s bigger than the wedding day itself.

One of the biggest tips I give all of my brides is to ask their florist for a few extra stems or loose blooms.

Those extra flowers help tie your detail photos into the overall wedding design while adding color, texture, and dimension to your flat lays.

You do not need everything on it.
